Beater/Whip to Bowl Clearance
Per the manufacturer the mixer attachments should not touch the bottom of the bowl. If the attachment hits the bottom or sides of the bowl, it may cause the attachment to warp or coating to chip off. If, after installation, the attachments are touching the bottom of the bowl OR are too far away you can adjust the clearance on your mixer:
Adjusting Bowl-Lift models:
- Turn speed control to "O".
- Unplug the mixer.
- Place bowl-lift handle in down position.
- Attach the beater.
- To RAISE the attachment: Turn screw SLIGHTLY counter-clockwise. / To LOWER the attachment: Turn screw SLIGHTLY clockwise.
- Place bowl-lift handle in up position to check clearance. Repeat steps 5 and 6 if necessary to achieve the proper adjustment.
NOTE: When properly adjusted, the beater will not strike the bottom or sides of the bowl when in use. If the beater or whip strikes the bowl when in use, the coating may wear/chip off the beater or the wires of the whip may become warped.

This was exactly what I needed to replace after 30 years of a lot of use. Your site was excellent because it listed all the model numbers not just a few, and since it is quite old I was glad to find the model number that fit mine, not all sites were that helpful, so thank you for being to accurate.

Very good replacement for the original
This is a very good replicate of the original KitchenAid K paddle. It fits a K5A almost perfectly, with about a 1 to 2 mm higher clearance from the bowl bottom than the original. It is definitely lighter in weight than the original paddle, but otherwise has the same dimensions. It works very well for bread dough. My only complaint, which isn't about the product itself, is that shipment was delayed - make sure this is in stock and ready to ship if you need it promptly.

Took me three tries to get the right beater. Not only was this one perfect, Speedy was a better deal than anything on Amazon or EBay. Will be returning for any future parts needs!

Super replacement for old worn out part
This fits on my 20 Yr old kitchen aid mixer super! It is made out of lighter material than old original part, but can not tell a difference in performance at all. Amazed that bought for such a cheap price! Very happy!
