WAYYYY Better Than The Original Icemaker!!!
Wow! This is a real workhorse and we couldn't be happier.
Our original GE went out and I bought a replacement for $98, put it in, and it made one batch and rolled over dead.
Needless to say, we wondered just how good this GE WR30X10093 Refrigerator Ice Maker Replacement could be for $55.75. What a pleasant shock! This thing just works...exactly the way you want hardware to function! -
Works as described
I was worried about ordering this ice maker replacement because of the dimensions listed. They are the box dimensions. The ice maker itself was the same size as the original we were replacing. Installation was not difficult, except for the small working space. It makes ice well. The only problem we have is with the one/off wire. We had to take of the white plastic piece to have it fit (GE bottom freezer), and it will not turn off, even if the ice is full. We have to manually turn it on and off as we want. I do like the positive and negative amount of ice size. It helps to make smaller ice so they don't come out stuck together

My 8 year old ice maker broke. This model was a perfect replacement. It came with two power cords and a few different options for funneling water, depending on how it's mounted, to the ice maker.

The ice maker gave out. I ordered a replacement from Speedy. Fast service! Easy installation! No problems! We once again have ice!

Be Careful about the Electrical Connection
We're delighted with how easily this replacement ice maker installed. Major word of caution --- it ships with two different electrical connection cords -- I didn't know this when I unpacked it; and I plugged into the maker the cord I first put my hands on. After doing so, I realized there was a second cord -- (two are shipped to make sure the consumer has the right connector.) I was lucky that the one I plugged in was the one that fit my connection. So -- DON'T plug in ANY cord until you've removed your old icemaker and can see which cord is the right one.
That caution aside --- we are DELIGHTED with the way this ice maker performs and especially with the ease of installation. Piece of cake. And I like that this maker has a adjustment to control the size of the ice nuggets. We're VERY happy. Shipping was slow -- but no foul. We're pleased.
