Generic replacement
Ice maker was a close match to the original, but not an exact match. The water inlet was for a side connection and the original was for a top fill line. The fill cup is short and allows water to splash out in freezer. Makes ice, but is messy.

Worked great with Whirlpool Gold Model GD5RVAXVY05 with infrared ice level sensor. This part comes without wiring harness and bottom plastic shield. Requires you to disassemble existing unit to obtain wiring harness, bottom plate and larger ice fill funnel. The funnel is integral to the bearing end of the shaft for the ice ejector, so you will need to unscrew two screws that hold the motor unit to the ice tray unit to pull the shaft from the bearing. The entire process took less than 20 minutes. I was unnecessarily concerned that this would not work with the infrared ice level sensor because it comes with the old style wire shut-off arm. That arm just pulls straight out but you need to make sure the unit is in the "on" or "up" position when you remove and dispose of the wire arm.
